Migraines

Almost everybody has headaches from time to time.  For the most part, they’re easily treatable and they may be no more than just a nuisance.  For other people, however, a headache can become life-changing whenever they get very serious.  Many people suffer from migraine headaches on a regular basis and these can really put you down for the count and take control of your life.  Unfortunately, there is little that can be done for those that suffer from migraine headaches medically, aside from masking the pain to a certain extent with some medication.  Although this can help, many migraine sufferers are looking to chiropractic care in order to overcome what is behind the migraine headaches to start with.

Unfortunately, there is not much that a doctor is going to be able to do to help you with your migraines.  Yes, they can give you some pain medicine that may be anti-inflammatory or preventative in nature but, it is simply masking over the pain and not really taking care of what is causing it in the first place.  Most people are surprised with how chiropractic helps migraine sufferers, particularly those that have been suffering for quite some time.  They’re able to do this for a number of different reasons.

First of all, chiropractic has to do with treating the spine of individuals in order to make sure that everything is in alignment.  Since a headache actually may radiate from another part of the body, it is not unusual to think that the spinal cord would have a lot to do with this.  If it were to be pinched or twisted in some way or another, it may be blocking signals and causing us to have the migraines that we suffer from.  We will be able to adjust the spine so that it is back in alignment and many people experience a certain amount of relief from the very first treatment.

We will also be able to help you to identify anything that may be causing the migraine headaches from outside of the body.  Our doctors are not only interested in adjusting your spine, they have an overall interest in natural health.  They will help you to identify any triggers that may bring on the migraine headaches such as caffeine, alcohol or chocolate.  You might be surprised with which of these may actually be causing your migraines in the first place.  Along with your adjustment, make sure that you consult with us for any other natural treatments that you may do to help you with your migraines.

Once you’re able to successfully overcome your migraines, it may be necessary to go in from time to time in order to remain adjusted.  Depending on our own personal circumstances, this can be done on a monthly basis or perhaps even longer.  One thing is certain for those that suffer from migraine headaches, the effort will be well worth it once the headaches are gone.
